Job summary

TVS Supply Chain Solutions Limited in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Freight Operations professional to manage daily operations for assigned accounts. The role covers import/export, billing, and customs, with responsibility for decision-making and escalation handling.

You will coordinate with agents, carriers, and customers to ensure smooth transactions and high customer satisfaction. Leading teams, guiding junior staff, and driving process improvements across freight operations,

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Logistics, Supply Chain or related field.
• Significant freight forwarding operations experience, including management level.
• Established relationships with customers, airlines and agents.
• Strong knowledge of cargo pricing and freight operations.
• Compliance with UK customs, health and safety, data protection and policies.
• Experience with financial reporting and customer management.
• Proficient in freight management systems and MS Office.

• Drive productivity improvements and freight system digitalisation initiatives.
• Support carrier selection, rate negotiation, and commercial activities.
• Monitor KPIs and generate management reports; guide junior staff.

Job Description:

Manage daily operations of Freight Operations for assigned accounts.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Manage the import, export, billing and customs processes and procedures for assigned Freight Operations
• Be responsible for day-to-day decision-making and ensure escalations are addressed promptly.
• Coordinate with agents, carriers, vendors, overseas offices, COE and customers to ensure smooth transactions.
• Ensure customer satisfaction is maintained across all levels of operations.
• Ensure that financial management, billing, and invoicing are carried out in a timely manner
• Support productivity enhancements within Freight Operations.
• Actively engage in freight system digitalisation initiatives across the network.
• Support corporate initiatives for Freight
• Support the selection of carriers and agents and negotiate rates and pricing.
• Support commercial activities by providing freight solutions for target customers and assisting local sales efforts through joint customer calls, bids and proposal preparation.
• Participate in project bids and execution
• Monitor KPIs and ensure timely generation of reports for management review
• Ensure company policies and procedures, confidentiality requirements, and legal and ethical guidelines, such as the Delegation of Authority, are clearly communicated and adhered to.
• Coach and guide junior team members to ensure development and succession planning

Observe and abide by the TSS-QIMM-01.6 Roles, Responsibilities and Authorities outlined in the QIM Manual.

• Degree or equivalent professional qualification/experience in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Freight Forwarding or a related field.
• Significant experience in freight forwarding operations, preferably in a management role, typically gained through 10+ years’ relevant freight forwarding or equivalent experience.
• Established working relationships with customers, airlines, shipping lines and agents.
• Strong knowledge of cargo service pricing and freight operations.
• Ensure operations comply with applicable UK customs, trade compliance, health and safety, data protection, company policies, and ethical standards.
• Working knowledge of financial reporting.
• Strong customer management skills.
• Good knowledge of freight management systems, including CargoWise, local customs and trade portals.
• Strong teamwork skills.
