Job description

For Brittany Ferries (BF), the best way to travel is to take the time to travel by sea.

As Freight Office Manager you will manage and lead the Brittany Ferries Freight Reservations team (France + UK), as well as the Condor Ferries reservations and customs teams !

You will be involved in the following activities:

Team management:

  • Establish and monitor the schedule for the different teams to ensure full coverage during the required business hours.
  • Motivate the teams within your responsibility by maintaining a positive, supportive, and results-oriented environment.
  • Ensure performance of the teams in a multicultural, crosscountry context.
  • Contribute to the development of staff skills within your teams.
  • Communicate system updates and changes to all users and wider teams.
  • Act as the liaison between senior management and the teams to relay company strategy and activity updates.
  • Monitor and follow up on collective and individual objectives.
  • Address and resolve any issues encountered by the team.

Ensuring Optimal Customer Satisfaction:

  • Ensure all working procedures are kept up to date.
  • Continuously review and improve procedures to ensure effective collaboration with all relevant departments.
  • Work closely with the freight sales team to meet shared objectives.

Profile required:

  • Bilingual in French and English, with Spanish as a plus, you bring strong intercultural communication skills and digital fluency.
  • As a pragmatic and structured leader, you're committed to continuous improvement, able to drive change, influence others, and lead by example with autonomy and team spirit.
  • You are a seasoned professional with at least 5 to 10 years of managerial experience, particularly in customer service or the freight sector.
  • You possess a deep understanding of freight booking and customs processes.

Informations :

  • Role is based in Poole, Dorset at the Poole Freight Reservations department. It could also be based in our offices in Portsmouth.
  • Hybrid (remote/office) working possible by arrangement with line manager and in line with BF policy.
