Job summary

Albini E Pitigliani Spa in Basildon is seeking an experienced Freight Forwarding Operator on a fixed-term contract to support the Head of Freight Forwarding and contribute to the MD’s vision for growth.

The role involves handling quotations, bookings, CRM updates, and customer liaison, with a focus on efficient workflows, accuracy, and timely responses. Working hours are 40 per week, with salary between £28,000 and £30,000 per annum, negotiable by experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in freight forwarding and client service.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication by phone and email.

Responsibilities

• Understand and execute the department's vision to deliver outstanding customer service.
• Book consignments with third-party contractors and quote cross-trade shipments.
• Maintain the CRM and ensure spot quotations are entered.
• Oversee bookings and invoicing with customers and suppliers.
• Support credit control with overdue payments and cash collection.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs, policies and health & safety requirements.
