Job summary

WR Logistics in Chelmsford is seeking an Inside Sales Executive to drive growth in our freight forwarding business. You will combine proactive outbound outreach with handling inbound quotations, delivering tailored ocean, air and road freight solutions.

You will generate new business, convert quotes into sales and build lasting customer relationships, working closely with carriers and operations to secure competitive pricing.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within UK freight forwarding or logistics sales.
• Knowledge of Ocean, Air and Road Freight.
• Experience preparing freight quotations.
• Strong communication, negotiation and telephone sales skills.
• Commercial awareness with a customer-focused approach.
• Well organised with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Generate new business through cold calling, email campaigns and prospecting.
• Respond promptly to inbound quotation requests.
• Prepare and follow up quotations for Ocean (FCL/LCL), Air and Road Freight.
• Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline using the CRM system.
• Develop strong relationships with new and existing customers.
• Liaise with carriers, overseas agents and operational teams to secure competitive pricing.
• Negotiate rates and maximise quote conversion.
• Achieve sales and gross profit targets.
• Keep CRM records and sales activity up to date.
• Monitor market trends and identify new business opportunities.
