Job summary

Urban Outfitters Europe is seeking a highly creative and technical Freelance Swimwear Designer to join our team on a contract basis. You will identify viral swimwear aesthetics and translate them into cohesive collections, combining trend insight with deep technical swimwear construction knowledge to meet our price architecture.

You will collaborate with product development, suppliers, and design teams to deliver inspiring, on-brand swimwear that resonates with the Urban Outfitters customer

Qualifications

• Dedicated experience in swimwear design with knowledge of fabrics, trim sourcing, and construction.
• Proven ability to capture viral moments and adapt youth trends for commercial success.
• Skilled at designing into pricing architectures while maintaining high perceived value.

Responsibilities

• Viral Trend & Concept Direction: translate fast-moving social trends into brand-right concepts and silhouettes.
• Technical Design & Tech Packs: create factory-ready tech packs with specs for stretch fabrics.
• Fit & Construction: apply knowledge of fabrics, elasticity, and support structures for fit across bodies.
• Costing & Architecture: design with margins and cost-effective production methods.
• Sample Execution & Fittings: participate in fittings and guide factories on adjustments.
