Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Freelance Site / Section Engineer for major structures and bridges on a South West project. The role focuses on setting out, surveying, on-site management, and QA processes to ensure safe, compliant delivery on schedule.

Ideal candidates will have proven experience on major infrastructure schemes, strong survey abilities, and certification readiness (SMSTS/CSCS preferred). Rate £480–£500 per day inside IR35, initial 3-month term.

Qualifications

• Experience on major infrastructure projects.
• Strong setting out and surveying capability.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Proven track record delivering major structures and bridges.
• Experience with QA, ITPs and as-built records.

Responsibilities

• Setting out and surveying for structures and bridge works.
• Managing day-to-day engineering activities on site.
• Ensuring works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications and programme.
• Producing and maintaining QA documentation, ITPs and as-built records.
• Managing technical queries and liaising with design teams.
• Monitoring subcontractor performance and site progress.
• Supporting temporary works, permits and safe systems of work.
• Driving high standards of quality, safety and environmental compliance.
