Job summary

O'Neill and Brennan is seeking an experienced Freelance Site Manager to cover holidays on a residential development in Yeovil, Somerset. The role runs from Friday 23rd October to Wednesday 28th October 2026, with a day rate of £270 CIS.

You will manage site operations, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure safety and quality during a short-term assignment. The successful candidate will oversee daily site activities, maintain build quality, monitor progress against the programme, and hand over

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Site Manager on new-build residential developments.
• Valid SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid certifications are essential.
• High health and safety awareness and excellent organisational skills required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the residential construction site.
• Coordinate subcontractors, trades and site personnel.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety procedures at all times.
• Monitor workmanship and maintain build quality standards.
• Track progress against the construction programme and adjust as needed.
• Conduct regular site inspections and address issues promptly.
• Coordinate materials, deliveries and resources to avoid delays.
• Maintain site records and health and safety documentation.
• Liaise with subcontractors and project team to resolve day-to-day issues.
• Facilitate a smooth handover to the permanent Site Manager at assignment end.
