Job summary

Sphere Solutions is seeking a Freelance Site Manager for the Margam Connection Project at Port Talbot. The role covers building envelopes, structural cladding, weatherproofing, and roofing for a 275kV GIS substation at the Tata Steel boundary.

Contract duration is 5 months from November 2026 to March 2027, with a focus on coordinating specialist trades, enforcing H&S, and delivering quality handover files. Applicants should have SMSTS, CSCS Black Card, NVQ Level 6, and First Aid at Work.

Qualifications

• SMSTS and CSCS Black Card (Manager level) required.
• NVQ Level 6 or equivalent qualification.
• First Aid at Work certification.
• Proven experience managing large building envelope/industrial cladding projects.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate roofing, cladding, structural steel and rainwater works with subcontractors.
• Manage winter site progression and enforce health & safety compliance and RAMS.
• Oversee ITPs, sign-offs and progressive handover file creation.
• Coordinate logistics per CLP and use DMS for deliveries at access points.
• Maintain daily site diaries and progress reports with digital QA checks.
