Job summary

Matchtech seeks a Consultant Site Engineer to support a major civil project in South Lincolnshire. The freelance assignment runs from the week of 21 September 2026 through February 2027, with start expectations in Week 37.

You will set out, control dimensions, manage sheet piling and reinforced concrete works, and coordinate subcontractors while ensuring compliance with drawings and quality procedures.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Site Engineer on heavy civil/highways projects.
• Strong practical knowledge of sheet piling operations.
• Experience delivering reinforced concrete works.
• Confident setting out and dimensional control skills.
• Understanding of construction quality management and inspections.
• Experience overseeing specialist subcontractors.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and construction information.
• Competence with surveying equipment and engineering software.

Responsibilities

• Setting out and managing dimensional control for sheet piling and reinforced concrete works.
• Ensuring construction activities comply with drawings, specs and tolerances.
• Coordinating specialist subcontractor packages throughout the construction process.
• Providing technical support to site operations and engineering teams.
• Monitoring quality assurance procedures, including inspections and site records.
• Reviewing and verifying as-built information.
• Identifying and resolving engineering and construction issues on site.
• Liaising with designers, subcontractors, site management and client representatives to support programme delivery.
