Job summary

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting a Freelance Setting Out Engineer for a busy commercial construction project in Exeter. The role is on a live site, with a minimum three-month contract and potential for extension.

The position offers a full-time temporary contract on site with an hourly pay of GBP40–GBP42 (CIS). You will carry out setting out for groundworks, interpret drawings, and provide QA as-built records while supporting site teams and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer on commercial construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of site surveying and construction methods.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
• Valid CSCS card.
• Own setting out kit/equipment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out setting out for groundworks, foundations and structural elements.
• Interpret drawings and site plans accurately.
• Conduct surveys and checks to ensure works are delivered to specification.
• Provide technical support to site teams and subcontractors.
• Maintain QA records and as-built information.
