Job summary

VGC is seeking a Site Engineer for a 3-month contract (strong likelihood of extension) based in Oxford. The role includes setting out and surveying works, and monitoring progress on a 12 on/2 off shift with weekend uplift.

You will manage QA documentation and as-built records, liaise with subcontractors and project stakeholders, ensure works meet drawings and specifications, and uphold health and safety standards on site. CSCS card required; engineering qualification preferred.

Site Engineer

3 month contract (strong likelihood of extension due to ongoing project work)

£450 - £500 per day

Based in Oxford

12 days on / 2 days off shift pattern (uplift for weekends)

Responsibilities

• Setting out and surveying works
• Managing QA documentation and as-built records
• Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with specifications and drawings
• Supporting site management teams with technical engineering requirements
• Liaising with subcontractors and project stakeholders
• Monitoring progress and maintaining health & safety standards on site

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on civil engineering or infrastructure projects
• Strong setting out experience
• Competent using surveying equipment and engineering software
• CSCS card required
• Relevant engineering qualification preferred
• Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced project environment
