Job summary

Fawkes & Reece London is seeking a Freelance Quantity Surveyor for ongoing M&E and HVAC projects in Tyneside. You will manage commercial aspects for a portfolio of NEC and JCT contracts, oversee budgets, valuations, and final accounts.

The role requires at least 4 years as QS, strong NEC/JCT experience, and a UK driving licence. Day rates are project-dependent with weekly CIS payments, and the position offers long-term, ongoing work.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years as Quantity Surveyor, preferably in M&E.
• Strong knowledge of NEC or JCT contracts.
• UK driving licence is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take commercial responsibility for M&E projects and manage costs.
• Prepare interim valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
• Identify variations and negotiate claims and change orders.
• Support procurement and subcontractor commercial management.
• Administer JCT/NEC contracts and monitor risk and opportunities.
• Provide cost reports and liaise with clients and suppliers.
• Close out projects with final accounts.
