Job summary

Freelance Quantity Surveyor is sought for ongoing M&E & HVAC projects based in Hull. You will manage commercial aspects across NEC/JCT contracts, support budgets and final accounts, and liaise with clients and supply chain on cost control.

The role is on-site with CIS weekly payments. A minimum of 4 years in QS, strong NEC/JCT knowledge, and a valid UK driving license are preferred. Immediate start available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years experience as Quantity Surveyor, preferably in M&E.
• Strong knowledge of NEC or JCT contracts.
• UK driving licence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take commercial responsibility for a portfolio of Mechanical, Electrical and HVAC projects.
• Manage project costs, budgets and forecasts throughout the full project lifecycle.
• Prepare and submit interim valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
• Identify, value and negotiate variations, change orders and contractual claims.
• Support the procurement and commercial management of subcontractor and supplier packages.
• Manage subcontractor accounts, valuations and payment certifications.
• Administer and support projects operating under JCT and NEC forms of contract.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities, ensuring appropriate action is taken throughout project delivery.
• Monitor project performance and prepare accurate commercial and cost reports for senior management.
• Work closely with operational teams to ensure commercial requirements are understood and maintained.
• Liaise professionally with clients, consultants, subcontractors and supply chain partners.
• Support the successful commercial close-out of projects, including agreement of final accounts.

We are hiring for a Freelance Quantity Surveyor for our client for ongoing projects based in Hull. Our client work nationally installing air conditioning, HVAC, refigeration, and electrical. This is ongoing work with many upcoming projects working on both NEC and JCT projects, starting ASAP.

Requirements for the Freelance Quantity Surveyor:

• Strong knowledge of managing NEC or JCT contracts.
• UK driving licence is preferred.

Day rate/salary:

Day rate flexible.

Weekly pay on a Friday paid by CIS.
