Job summary

Red Badger is seeking a Freelance Principal UX Researcher to lead strategic discovery across multi-team client programmes and shape what gets built. You will set research standards and build scalable Research Ops, ensuring customer insight drives prioritisation.

This working leadership role combines hands-on research, standard-setting, and cross‑functional collaboration to grow researchers and influence senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Lead strategic discovery across multiple product teams.
• Master qualitative and quantitative methods, including interviews, JTBD, Kano, MaxDiff, MVT, A/B testing, Diary studies, observation.
• Advise on how research can support Human‑Centred Design, Design Thinking and Lean Experimentation practices.

Responsibilities

• Strategic discovery end-to-end, plan to validated view of customer value.
• Set research standards and embed Research Ops across large programmes.
• Turn insight into roadmap decisions with clear, traceable links to outcomes.
• Collaborative leader and trusted advisor to senior clients and design leadership.
• Build Red Badger capability by developing research methods for product and design teams.
