Job summary

Millbank Holdings Ltd is seeking a freelance Geotechnical Designer / Site Representative to act as the on-site geotechnical authority on a live project in North Wales. You will support earthworks and foundation installation, reviewing records and conducting site inspections to ensure compliance with geotechnical standards.

The role requires extensive geotechnical field experience, knowledge of Eurocode 7/BS 5930, and strong communication skills to coordinate with construction teams on-site.

Qualifications

Proven and extensive experience providing site-based geotechnical support on construction projects.
Strong background in earthworks, piles, shallow foundations, and piled retaining walls.
Knowledge of UK standards such as Eurocode 7 and BS 5930.
Chartered status is preferred.
Confident working independently on site with excellent communication skills.
Pragmatic, construction-focused mindset with a 'can-do' attitude to problem solving.

Responsibilities

Provide technical advice on ground conditions, earthworks, piling and foundations on live projects.
Review installation records and undertake site inspections.
Assist with design changes and risk mitigation on site.
Coordinate with on-site teams to ensure compliance with geotechnical standards.
