Job summary

SILA Linguists is seeking freelance Moroccan Arabic interpreters and translators for healthcare, legal, immigration and family work. Roles include on-site and remote assignments across the UK, with DBS checks required for some postings.

Candidates should be native or near-native in Moroccan Arabic and English, with relevant qualifications such as DPSI/DPI or a translation degree. French or Tarifit/Tamazight knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Native or near-native fluency in Moroccan Arabic and English (spoken and written).
• Willingness to undergo a DBS check for certain assignments.
• CIOL/ITI/NRPSI membership welcome.

Responsibilities

• Interpret in Darija and switch to Standard Arabic or French as required.
• Translate Moroccan civil records and court papers into English from Arabic or French.
• Maintain accuracy, impartiality and confidentiality on every assignment.
• Prepare for bookings by reviewing briefs and researching terminology.
