We are recruiting freelance Moroccan Arabic interpreters and translators for healthcare, legal, immigration and family work, remotely or on site.
Moroccan Darija is the everyday language of Morocco. It draws on Arabic, Amazigh (Berber) languages, French and Spanish, and speakers of Middle Eastern dialects often find it hard to follow. The UK's Moroccan community is long established, and many families include Amazigh speakers of Tarifit, Tamazight or Tashelhit.
Assignments include GP and hospital care, family court, police and solicitor appointments, schools and immigration matters. Translators work on Moroccan civil documents, which are usually in Standard Arabic and French.
SILA Linguists is a language services company providing interpreting, translation and transcription across the UK, North America, Australia, New Zealand and beyond, in more than 350 languages and dialects.
