Job summary

Warden Tyne Solutions Ltd. is seeking an experienced Freelance MEP Project Manager (Mechanical) for a major hyperscale data centre development in the North East. You will manage complex cooling systems, pipework and water services while coordinating multiple subcontractors on site.

The role requires strong forward planning, detail orientation and excellent communication across interfaces with electrical, BIM and commissioning teams to ensure on-time delivery and quality handover.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager in a contractor or building services environment.
• Strong data centre construction experience is essential.
• Technical knowledge of cooling systems and chillers.
• Experience coordinating complex installation packages.

Responsibilities

• Manage the mechanical package to deliver safely, on programme and to quality.
• Oversee day-to-day mechanical installation activities with subcontractors.
• Coordinate cooling plant installation including chillers and distribution.
• Review drawings and RFIs to resolve design queries ahead of installation.
• Maintain lookahead programmes and coordinate sequencing.
• Ensure quality assurance, inspections, and handover documentation.
