Job summary

Fawkes & Reece Group in the United Kingdom is seeking a Freelance Design Manager to lead the design process from pre-construction through to delivery on secured government, defence or highly regulated projects.

You will coordinate design information, review drawings for buildability and compliance, manage multiple consultants, and drive design meetings to keep the programme on track and meet MOD and secure facility requirements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Design Manager within the construction sector.
• Experience delivering secure government, defence, custodial, or highly regulated projects is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of design coordination and technical compliance.
• Ability to manage multiple consultants and maintain design programmes.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the design process from pre-construction through to delivery.
• Ensure design information is delivered on time to meet programme requirements.
• Review drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements, security standards, and buildability.
• Lead design team meetings and manage the flow of information between stakeholders.
• Work closely with site and commercial teams to resolve design issues and maintain project progress.
• Ensure design solutions meet MOD and secure facility requirements.
