Job summary

Rogers McHugh is seeking a Freelance Contracts Manager to lead commercial office fit-out projects on a flexible, ongoing freelance basis. You will oversee one to three live projects from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring delivery on time, budget, and quality while coordinating with site teams and clients.

The role blends home, office, and site-based work with regular office visits and site attendance, offering a long-term freelance path and potential to move into a permanent

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Contracts Manager in commercial office fit-out projects.
• Experience managing £250k–£5m schemes and coordinating site teams.
• Ability to take over from estimator handover and manage procurement, costs, and valuations.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to travel to sites and office as required.

Responsibilities

• Manage 1–3 live projects from pre-construction to completion.
• Oversee delivery on time, within budget and quality standards.
• Develop and maintain detailed project programmes.
• Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and clients.
• Monitor progress and resolve issues; support pricing and tender submissions.
• Maintain client relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Ensure health and safety compliance.
