Job summary

Linear Recruitment is seeking an experienced Assistant Site Manager to join a Morpeth-based care home project on a freelance basis. You will support the Site Manager, coordinate multiple trades, and help ensure safety, quality, and programme targets are met.

The role requires prior Assistant Site Manager experience in care homes or similar construction, strong health & safety knowledge, and the ability to manage subcontractors and site team effectively.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Assistant Site Manager or similar
• Experience within care homes, residential, commercial or similar construction projects
• Strong understanding of health & safety and site procedures
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Ability to coordinate multiple trades and subcontractors effectively
• SMSTS/SSSTS and CSCS qualifications
• A proactive approach and ability to work as part of a wider site team

Responsibilities

• Supporting the Site Manager with the day-to-day running of the site.
• Coordinating subcontractors and site operatives across multiple trades.
• Monitoring progress and ensuring works remain on programme.
• Carrying out regular site inspections and ensuring a high standard of workmanship.
• Assisting with health & safety compliance and maintaining site standards.
• Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers and the wider project team.
• Assisting with site documentation, RAMS, permits and quality records.
• Identifying and reporting any issues that could affect programme, quality or safety.
• Maintaining a professional and organised site environment.
