Job summary

Reed is seeking an experienced Franchise Solicitor in Canterbury to advise franchisors and franchisees on a range of franchise matters, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating franchise agreements. The role also covers renewals, transfers, and exits, with opportunities to work on commercial contracts and BD activities.

The successful candidate will be a qualified solicitor in England & Wales with strong drafting, negotiation, and client relationship skills, and a commercially minded

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with franchise/commercial contracts experience.
• Strong drafting and negotiating skills for franchise agreements and commercial contracts.
• Excellent communication and client relationship management with commercial awareness.

Responsibilities

• Advise franchisors and franchisees on franchise matters, drafting and negotiating franchise agreements.
• Handle renewals, variations, transfers and exits of franchise agreements.
• Draft and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts and agreements.
• Provide advice on rights and obligations of parties in franchise relationships.
• Support clients with the purchase and sale of franchise businesses.
• Address contractual and commercial issues in franchise relationships.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the firm and develop client relationships.
• Take an active role in networking, marketing and business development.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Franchise Solicitor to join a well-established and highly regarded law firm in Canterbury. This role is ideal for a commercially minded solicitor eager to advance their career within a supportive and progressive environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Advise both franchisors and franchisees on a range of franchise matters including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating franchise agreements.
• Handle franchise renewals, variations, transfers, and exits.
• Draft and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts and agreements.
• Provide advice on the rights and obligations of parties throughout the franchise relationship.
• Support clients with the purchase and sale of franchise businesses.
• Address contractual and commercial issues arising within franchise relationships.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across other areas of the firm as required.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients.
• Take an active role in networking, marketing, and business development activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales.
• Previous experience within franchise law and/or commercial contracts.
• Proficient in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
• Commercial awareness with a practical approach to providing legal advice.
• Ability to manage own caseload and prioritise effectively.
• Interest in networking and developing new business.
• Team player within a collaborative and supportive environment.
