Job summary

Go Fractional is seeking a Senior Management Accountant hybrid in Scotland for a 12-month maternity cover. You will own monthly management accounts, lead month-end, strengthen controls and partner with leaders to turn financial data into actionable insights.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing or holding a professional accounting qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ACA).
• Experience in management accounting and financial reporting.
• Strong accounting knowledge including month-end and reconciliations.
• Ability to turn data into actionable insights for business leaders.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and planning.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement across teams.
• Continuous improvement mindset with process simplification.
• Advanced Excel and familiarity with financial systems.

Responsibilities

• Producing accurate and timely monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Leading month-end activities, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Analysing financial performance and providing clear insight into trends, risks and opportunities.
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities across the business.
• Partnering with Finance Business Partners and operational leaders to support decision‑making and performance improvement.
• Identifying and implementing improvements to reporting, controls and finance processes.
• Supporting internal and external audit activity and maintaining strong financial governance.
• Coaching and supporting junior members of the finance team where appropriate.

Senior Management Accountant

Location: Hybrid, Scotland

Hours: Full time or part time (28+ hours per week)

Contract: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover)

Requirements

We're looking for someone who enjoys getting into the detail while keeping sight of the bigger picture.

You'll likely bring:

• Progress towards, or completion of, a professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or ACA.
• Experience in a management accounting, financial accounting or business-facing finance role.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including management reporting, reconciliations and month‑end processes.
• The ability to analyse financial data and communicate insights in a clear and meaningful way.
• Experience working with budgets, forecasts and financial planning activities.
• Confidence building relationships with stakeholders across different teams and levels of the organisation.
• A continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to simplify processes and enhance controls.
• Strong Excel and financial systems skills.
