Job summary

Manpower Group (UK) is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our finance team in the UK. This hybrid role (3 days in the office, 2 at home) supports the UK business and multiple EMEA entities.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will lead month-end close, prepare and review financial statements, manage audits and finance transformation projects, and drive improvements across controls, processes and ERP implementations.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge.
• Experience managing month-end and year-end reporting processes.

Senior Accountant

Location: Hybrid (3 days office / 2 days home)

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Accountant to join our finance team, supporting the UK business and a number of EMEA entities.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is a broad and varied role encompassing financial reporting, statutory compliance, audit management, team leadership, and finance transformation projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information while driving continuous improvement across the finance function.
This position also offers the opportunity to contribute to major business initiatives, including ERP implementation and process enhancement projects.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Control

• Lead the month-end close process for assigned UK and EMEA entities.
• Prepare and review monthly management accounts and annual financial statements.
• Oversee revenue recognition, cash flow reporting and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Deliver detailed variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior-year performance.
• Maintain robust financial controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
• Identify financial risks and opportunities through detailed analysis and review.

Team Leadership

• Manage, mentor and develop a team of finance professionals.
• Support team performance through coaching, workload planning and regular feedback.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.

Audit & Compliance

• Act as a key contact for external auditors and support the year-end audit process.
• Assist with statutory reporting, tax compliance and associated reconciliations.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory and governance requirements.
• Support the development and enhancement of finance policies, controls and procedures.

Business Partnering & Continuous Improvement

• Work closely with stakeholders across the business to improve financial performance and reporting.
• Monitor and report on key financial and operational KPIs.
• Collaborate with payroll and commission teams to ensure accurate reporting and reconciliation processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy and financial controls.

Projects & Transformation

• Support the implementation of new ERP and finance systems.
• Assist with budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support to the wider finance leadership team.
• Contribute to ongoing finance transformation and process improvement initiatives.

About You

You will be a technically strong finance professional with a proactive mindset and a passion for delivering high-quality financial reporting in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Requirements

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Minimum of 5 years' accounting experience.
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge.
• Experience managing month-end and year-end reporting processes.
• Previous people management or team leadership experience.
• Audit experience and a strong understanding of financial controls.
• Experience working with ERP systems and finance transformation projects.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• High attention to detail and a proactive approach to work.

Desirable

• Experience supporting EMEA or multinational entities.
• NetSuite experience.
• ERP implementation experience.
• Additional European language skills.

Working Arrangements

• Hybrid working model with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
• Travel between office locations may be required.
