Job summary

Genesis Labels & Packaging in Leeds is seeking an experienced Fractional COO/Operations Director to help shape the next growth phase. This 1–2 day per week, on-site role collaborates closely with the owners and leadership team to introduce structure and scalable processes while preserving the company’s entrepreneurial spirit.

You will reduce day‑to‑day dependency on the owners, implement practical operating structures, and help recruit the right people to support future growth.

Qualifications

• Experienced operational leader with a track record in small, growing or owner-managed businesses.
• Proven ability to introduce structure and processes without over-bureaucratisation.
• Strong operational and commercial understanding; able to implement changes.

Responsibilities

• Review current operations to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.
• Develop practical, scalable processes to support growth.
• Establish clearer roles, responsibilities, accountability and decision-making.
• Reduce day-to-day operational dependency on owners.
• Support development of management and organisational structure.
• Improve operational efficiency, communication and ways of working.
• Turn improvements into actions and ensure implementation.
• Support workforce planning and recruitment into right roles.
• Provide operational guidance and constructive challenge to owners.
• Support team as new processes and responsibilities are introduced.
