Job description

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Verification Engineer to join Arm’s Solution Engineering FPGA Verification and Validation team in Cambridge, UK, on a permanent basis. The team focuses on embedded design related to Arm IP products, building physical hardware development platforms using Arm’s custom SoC and FPGAs for software development and validation for external partners and internal teams.

As a Verification Engineer, your responsibilities will include verifying SoC RTL designs adapted for FPGA, developing and maintaining verification testbenches, writing test cases in C, reusing existing test cases, creating test plans, and developing automation tools using scripting languages like Python and Shell scripts.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with design and verification teams to define testing scenarios and develop corresponding tests.
  • Contribute ideas to enhance testing scope and effectiveness.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Strong understanding of SoC verification, hardware description languages (SystemVerilog, Verilog, VHDL), and verification methodologies.
  • Experience with AMBA bus standards (AXI, AHB, APB, CHI).
  • Proficiency with EDA simulation tools such as VCS, Questasim, Cadence.
  • Experience with scripting languages like Perl, Python, or similar.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of computer architecture fundamentals.
  • Experience with ARM-based designs or ARM System Architectures.
  • Familiarity with ARM debugger and trace tools (ARM DS, DSTREAM).
  • Experience with SystemVerilog and verification methodologies like UVM/OVM.
  • Understanding of Object-Oriented programming.
  • Experience porting peripheral driver software.
