Job summary

World Class Defence Organisation is seeking an experienced FPGA Design Engineer subcontractor for a 12-month contract based in the UK. The role requires ~4+ years in FPGA design and verification across complex projects, with exposure to VHDL, SystemVerilog and industry-leading toolchains.

Hybrid/remote work is available: 3 days on-site with the remaining 2 days remote; occasional on-site depending on workload. Inside IR35 (Umbrella) and a video interview process are noted.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified or equivalent with significant FPGA development experience.
• Strong VHDL language and design skills.
• Strong verification skills using VHDL and SystemVerilog.
• Proven experience designing for Xilinx, Intel or Microsemi FPGAs.
• Experience configuring and documenting designs.
• Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Generating complex FPGA architectures and design implementations (VHDL, Simulink etc), targeting Xilinx, Intel, Microsemi devices.
• Verifying complex FPGA implementations using VHDL and SystemVerilog UVM test-bench methodologies.
• Using FPGA design toolsets and Mentor verification tools (QuestaSim & ModelSim).
• Generating low-level software (C) to facilitate FPGA test and integration with the wider embedded system.
• Configuring and documenting designs to a high professional standard.
• Working as part of a multi-discipline team to deliver complex FPGA based projects.
