Job summary

World Class Defence Organisation in the UK is recruiting 3x FPGA Design Engineer Subcontractors for a 12-month contract. Candidates should have 4+ years in FPGA design and verification, with VHDL and SystemVerilog, and experience with Xilinx, Intel or Microsemi FPGAs.

Hybrid on-site/remote work is offered (3 days on site, 2 remote; some periods may require full on-site). The role is Inside IR35 (Umbrella) with a rate of £90 per hour.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified with significant FPGA development experience.
• Competent VHDL language and design skills.
• Competent verification skills using VHDL and SystemVerilog methodologies.
• Experience designing for Xilinx, Intel or Microsemi FPGAs.
• Experience configuring and documenting designs.
• Experience working in a large multidiscipline team.

Responsibilities

• Generate complex FPGA architectures and designs (VHDL, Simulink), targeting Xilinx/Intel/Microsemi devices.
• Verify complex FPGA implementations using VHDL and SystemVerilog methodologies.
• Use FPGA design toolsets and Mentor verification tools (QuestaSim & ModelSim).
• Generate low-level software (C) to facilitate FPGA testing and integration with the embedded system.
• Configure and document designs to a high professional standard.
• Work as part of a multidiscipline team to deliver complex FPGA-based projects.
