Job summary

Sompo International is seeking a Manager, Corporate FP&A based in London. You will join the Global FP&A team to support quarterly forecasting and annual planning, review forecasts, and produce insightful analyses and executive-ready presentations.

The role demands strong analytical and communication skills, with at least 2 years FP&A experience in insurance or reinsurance, and the ability to work across teams to drive better planning, profitability insights, and strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field; MBA/CPA/CFA preferred but not required.
• Minimum 2 years FP&A experience in the insurance/reinsurance industry.
• Ability to analyze and succinctly summarize financial results.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• Team player with ability to work independently.
• Proficiency in budgeting software and MS Office.

Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Manager, Corporate FP&A in our Corporate FP&A team.

This role provides an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced, collaborative environment positioned in our Global Financial Planning & Analysis team as part of the finance function.

As FP&A Manager, you will support quarterly forecasting and annual planning processes; review and understand forecasts and plans; produce timely and insightful analysis; and prepare executive-level presentations.

What you’ll be doing:

• Manage quarter forecasting and annual planning processes. Review and understand the forecasts and plans produced by our businesses and use this information to further develop analysis
• Produce analysis to enhance the quality of the Plan, including underwriting and profitability insights
• Produce some scenario modelling and stress testing analysis on the planning process.
• Facilitate effective decision-making by analyzing financial information, industry trends and economic conditions
• Support the development of presentations to key stakeholders including the board of directors, executive leadership and the investment community
• Develop new processes and reports to enhance the overall planning function; and enhance tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness
• Collaborate with partners to obtain necessary information and supporting documentation
• Create a positive environment by modelling cultural expectations and guiding leaders to reward performance and value “can do” people, accountability, diversity and inclusion, flexibility, continuous improvement, collaboration, and creativity

What you’ll bring:

• Bachelor’s degree with major in quantitative field (e.g. Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics). MBA, Certified Public Accountant, and/or Charter Financial Analyst preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 2 years Financial Planning & Analysis experience in the insurance/reinsurance industry
• Ability to understand, analyze and succinctly summarize financial results
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information to diverse audiences
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Work effectively in a team environment and independently
• Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities and assignments
• Technical skillsets in budgeting software systems and Microsoft Office Suite
