Job summary

Bristol Waste Company is seeking an FP&A Analyst for a 6-month fixed-term contract to lead budgeting, forecasting and management reporting, and to partner with budget holders. You will build robust financial models and translate data into actionable insights for senior stakeholders.

The role requires advanced Excel, strong analytical skills and clear communication. You will collaborate with Finance, Data, Operations and the council to drive planning and commercial decision making across the

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing financial models for forecasting, scenario analysis or investment evaluation.
• Experience in FP&A including budgeting, reforecasting and month-end management reporting.
• Experience presenting insights to non-technical audiences.
• Experience implementing controls, documentation and quality checks within modelling processes.
• Sector knowledge of waste/local government/utilities is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual budgeting process and reforecasts for Waste & FM services with budget holders.
• Review monthly management reporting and variance analysis, explain drivers and action plan.
• Act as a business partner to operational and commercial teams during planning and reporting cycles.
• Translate complex data into clear insights for senior stakeholders, highlighting risks and recommendations.
• Ensure model governance with documentation, quality checks and version control.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Data & Reporting, Operations and Bristol City Council.
