Progress Rail, a Caterpillar Company, is seeking a skilled engineer for foundry processes to design, monitor and improve casting methods and workflows in our UK site. You will apply technical insights to optimize capacity, reduce waste and improve quality across the plant.

The role emphasizes hands-on planning, collaboration with maintenance and quality teams, and delivering cost-saving improvements. Basic pay aligns with UK pay scales and includes company benefits and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in a foundry environment with involvement in Methoding.
• Hands-on planning of workflow and capacity.
• Proficient in MS Office and computer skills.
• Strong communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Instigates, calculates, designs and monitors all foundry methods.
• Monitors, reports and recommends solutions on capacity constraints and excess capacity.
• Provides technical advice and suggests improvements in quality systems and sample procedures.
• Delivers cost saving improvements across the plant, including reduction of waste and improvements in casting yields.
• Provides technical assessments of foundry consumables.
• Ensures method weights are up to date to deliver accurate casting weights.
• Continuously improves production routes.
