Job summary

Progress Rail, a Caterpillar company, is seeking a Production Design Engineer to support the production of Cast Manganese Products. You will create detailed casting drawings, work sketches, routing instructions and Bills of Material, ensuring designs are accurate, practical and production-ready.

You will collaborate with Pattern Making, Methoding and Machining teams to ensure compliance with best practice and maintainability, while contributing to continuous improvement across manufacturing

Qualifications

• In depth understanding of technical drawings.
• Understanding of procedures and processes.
• Knowledge of technical standards, codes and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Process jobs to maximise production throughput and efficiency.
• Improve existing products, processes and design tools.
• Produce designs for pattern production with cross-functional teams.
• Ensure drawings meet established engineering standards.
• Support manufacturing to resolve NCRs or process changes.
