Job summary

Grainger & Worrall is seeking a Foundry Casting Technician based in Bridgnorth to support our Engineering and Production teams. You will help prepare and control the metal casting process, ensuring materials meet specification and safety standards in a high-temperature foundry environment.

With experience in foundry operations, you will contribute to continuous improvement while maintaining quality and accurate records. Competitive benefits and a team-focused culture are on offer.

  • Aluminium casting experience is desirable, especially automotive quality standards.
  • Must have manual handling and HSE awareness training.

About the role:

As a Casting Technician in our Foundry, you’ll support our Engineering and Production teams in preparing and controlling the metal casting process. You’ll ensure materials meet specification, maintain a safe working environment, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Preparing and controlling metal casting processes to meet production schedules.
  • Performing checks to ensure material quality and specification compliance.
  • Managing the casting area for efficient workflow.
  • Supporting sampling and production activities for repeatable processes.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Implementing safe working practices in a high-temperature environment.
  • Assisting with audits and process improvements.

Who we’re looking for:

You’ll bring experience and a proactive approach to working in a Foundry environment. Skills include:

  • Experience of foundry processes.
  • Desirable but not essential is experience working with Aluminium and to automotive quality standards.
  • Manual handling and HSE awareness training.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Crane slinger, bobcat or overhead crane training (or willingness to train).
  • Ability to travel to site.
