Job summary

The candidate will oversee metrology, 3D scanning, and virtual assemblies while mentoring the technical team and coordinating testing programmes and QA protocols. A proactive approach to automation and waste reduction is essential.

Responsibilities

• Drive safety, efficiency, utilisation, and housekeeping across the site.
• Implement best-practice process control tools to optimise yield and minimise waste.
• Coordinate testing programmes, certifications, and quality assurance protocols.
• Lead root cause analysis investigations and embed corrective/preventive actions.
• Support transition from manual to automated grinding, reducing scrap and rework.
• Collaborate with suppliers, machinists, and customers on new technologies.

• Embed a culture of 'right first time, every time' throughout the department.

Job Title: Technical Manager (Must have Metallurgy experience within the Castings Industry)

Location: Stourbridge

Shift Patterns: 06:00 - 16:30 Monday - Friday (Must be willing to do overtime)

This role may also suit someone who isn't yet a Technical Manager but is technically talented, with strong process control and process management experience, and ready to take the next step in their career.

What you will be doing:
