Job summary

Wave Group is hiring its first engineer to build the product end to end in a pre‑seed fintech. You’ll own the risk engine that quantifies AI agent purchases against user intent and also build the payment infra, working directly with the founders.

Founding team of two, opportunity to shape tech direction with meaningful equity from day one. Office presence in Shoreditch, London, three days a week (Mon, Wed, Thu).

Qualifications

• Startup/scaleup experience preferred.
• Ability to own APIs, data pipelines and infrastructure decisions solo.
• Depth in ML infrastructure or payment experiences is a plus.
• Stack: Python or TypeScript; other languages considered due to heavy AI use.

Responsibilities

• Build a first‑of‑its‑kind risk engine to verify AI agent purchases match user intent.
• Develop the payment infrastructure layer to enable agent transactions.
• Collaborate with design partners to get features into production with real transaction data.
