Job summary
Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is offering a Foundation Pharmacist training post across our hospital sites. You will undertake clinical rotations, including medicine for older people, general surgery, paediatrics and cardiology, gaining experience in dispensing, medicines information and technical services.
You will be supported by an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist for Education & Training and a team of specialists, with opportunities to complete a Post Graduate Diploma in clinical pharmacy and
Qualifications
- Masters Degree in pharmacy; General Pharmaceutical Council registration by 12 months of pre-registration training/experience and examination.
- Experience in pharmacy practice through one year’s pre-registration training and examination.
- Ability to educate patients and liaise with multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Dispense medicines and perform clinical/accuracy checking of prescriptions.
- Act as Responsible Pharmacist according to local procedures.
- Supervise technicians and trainee pharmacists.
- Educate patients about their medicines and liaise with healthcare teams.
- Work across dispensary and technical services to ensure timely medicine supply.
- Contribute to medicines information and clinical projects.
