Job summary

North Lindsey College in Scunthorpe invites applications for a permanent Foundation Learning Lecturer in the SEND Department. The role focuses on teaching Foundation Learning and employability programmes to students with SEND, tutoring a caseload, and embedding English and maths in provision. The post is 29 hours a week, Tuesday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Relevant SEND qualification at Level 3 or above.
• Recognised teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
• Minimum Level 2 qualifications in English and maths.
• At least two years' experience with SEND learners.
• Knowledge of EHCP processes.
• Experience embedding Functional Skills in teaching and learning.

Responsibilities

• Deliver teaching across Foundation Learning and employability programmes.
• Act as course tutor, providing pastoral support to a caseload.
• Monitor progress, attendance and behaviour.
• Write and maintain schemes of work, lesson plans, assessments and progress tracking.
• Embed English, maths, equality and British Values in teaching.
• Attend EHCP reviews and liaise with families and support services.
• Keep accurate student records, including eILPs, registers and assessment information.
• Support recruitment through open events, admissions and promotional activities.
• Contribute to curriculum development, quality improvement and departmental targets.
• Work with colleagues to keep the learning environment inclusive and high quality.
