Job summary

Five Rivers Child Care is seeking a Fostering Support Worker (Part-Time) to assist children and young people, foster carers and professionals. The role is primarily homebased, serving East Hants and Sussex, with travel to other areas as needed. You will contribute to safeguarding, attend events, maintain records and work as part of a supportive team.

The ideal candidate is child-focused, communicative and organised, with training provided. A valid UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good IT skills and confidence maintaining accurate records.
• Ability to build relationships with children, young people, foster carers, colleagues and external professionals.
• Strong listening, organisation and teamwork skills.
• Valid UK driving licence and access to a car.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, professional relationships with children, young people and foster carers.
• Plan and deliver purposeful individual and group activities.
• Organise participation events and promote the voice of children and young people.
• Provide practical and emotional support to fostering families.
• Work collaboratively with social workers, colleagues and external professionals.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to high-quality outcomes.
• Develop relationships within local communities and support foster carer recruitment events.
