Job summary

Derbyshire County Council seeks a qualified Social Worker to join the Fostering Team in Buxton, providing supervision and support to approved Foster Carers. You will work collaboratively with children’s Social Workers and other professionals to promote positive outcomes for children.

The role involves annual Foster Carer reviews, attendance at Foster Panel, and facilitating support groups, with monthly reflective supervision and potential mentoring.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker with appropriate registration.
• Experience in fostering or child services is desirable but not essential.
• Strong assessment and analytical skills with excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support approved Foster Carers in line with national standards.
• Contribute to ongoing development of the Fostering Service and team.
• Attend Foster Panel and facilitate regular Foster Carer support groups; participate in rota for Fostering duty.
