Barnsley Council's Children’s Services are recruiting a full-time Social Worker to join the Fostering supervisory team in Barnsley. The role focuses on supervising foster carers, ensuring placement stability, and contributing to training and annual reviews.

You will hold a Social Work degree, be registered with Social Work England, and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, collaboration with professionals, and a commitment to improving outcomes for children.

Qualifications

• A degree or diploma in Social Work and Social Work England Registration.
• Ability to build relationships and work in partnership with children, young people, parents, carers, and partners.
• Curiosity in practice with a tenacious desire to achieve the best outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Supervise foster carers and ensure placement stability.
• Provide training to foster carers and participate in annual reviews.
• Collaborate with other Children’s Services professionals involved in care planning.
• Contribute to fostering duty rota and inter-agency work.
