Job summary

Rotherham MBC is seeking a Fostering Supervising Social Worker to join the service. The role requires a recognised Social Work qualification with SW England registration and at least two years in fostering services.

You will supervise carers, complete Form K assessments, and contribute to complex cases with clear reports. You will deliver supervision, training and support to foster carers, maintain accurate records, and ensure safeguarding and legislative standards are met across

Qualifications

• A recognised Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in fostering services.
• Experience as a Supervising Social Worker and completing Form K Assessments for kinship carers.
• Strong assessment, analysis and recording skills.
• Ability to promote empathetic understanding of looked after children's needs.
• Experience delivering assessment, training, support and supervision to foster carers.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and safeguarding responsibilities.
• Familiarity with the National Minimum Standards for Fostering Services (2011).

Responsibilities

• Provide a local social care service for vulnerable customers and contribute to social work activities.
• Carry out investigations and planned assessments with written evidence based reports for highly complex cases.
• Assess needs in accordance with Council policy and legislation, including joint assessments with other bodies.
• Develop support plans and co-ordinate services to meet needs within financial constraints.
• Monitor service delivery and amend provision to meet standards and best practices.
• Promote prevent, reduce and delay principles, upholding rights and dignity of looked after children.
• Provide information, advice and guidance to customers and carers on local services.
• Provide ongoing advice and support to vulnerable clients and carers as case worker.
• Keep up-to-date records and reports using IT systems.
