Job summary

Connect2Halton, on behalf of Halton Borough Council, seeks a qualified Locum Social Worker to support children, young people and foster families in the Fostering Team. You will assess, support and supervise foster carers, collaborating with partner agencies to ensure safe, stable and nurturing placements.

An induction and training programme will be provided to the successful candidate. The role requires Social Work England registration, 3 years’ experience in children’s social work, and the

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
• 3 years permanent experience in children’s social work.
• Previous experience within children social work.
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload.
• Excellent assessment, analytical and report-writing skills.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to work collaboratively with foster carers, children, families and partner agencies.

Are you a qualified Locum Social Worker looking for an opportunity to make a lasting difference to children, young people and foster families?

Halton Borough Council is looking for dedicated and experienced Social Workers to join our supportive and committed Fostering Team.

Our Fostering Team plays a vital role in ensuring children and young people experience safe, stable and nurturing foster placements. We are looking for passionate professionals who can build strong relationships with foster carers, work collaboratively with partner agencies and provide high-quality support throughout the fostering journey.

Responsibilities

As a Social Worker, it is vital that you work well with Foster Carers throughout the process of them fostering children and young people, and work collaboratively across services and with other professional disciplines. Your role will involve assessing, supporting, and supervising foster carers in accordance with the fostering National Minimum Standards 2011 and encourage carers to access their support network and services provided by the local authority and beyond. The ideal candidate will have previous Fostering Social Work experience; a full induction and training programme will be provided.
