Job summary

Caritas Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Social Worker specialising in Fostering to support children and families in the Devon region. You will assess foster carer suitability, provide training and guidance, and develop tailored care plans to safeguard welfare.

The role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, maintaining case records, and ensuring compliance with local authority guidelines. A Social Work qualification and SW England registration are required.

Qualifications

• A recognized Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
• Current registration with Social Work England.
• Experience in fostering or children’s services is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a caseload effectively.

Responsibilities

• Conducting assessments and home visits to evaluate the suitability of potential foster families.
• Providing support and guidance to foster carers, ensuring they have the resources and training necessary to provide a nurturing environment.
• Developing and implementing care plans tailored to the individual needs of children in foster care.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies to promote the welfare and safety of children.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with local authority guidelines.
