Job summary

Essex County Council is recruiting for a Fostering Panel and Data Performance Advisor on a part-time basis. The role covers expert guidance on fostering panels, audit preparation and data analysis to support inspection readiness, with a strong emphasis on improving practice standards across Children & Families services.

The post requires a qualified social worker with HCPC registration, proven fostering leadership, and driving continuous improvement in a dynamic local authority environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified social worker with HCPC registration and social work degree or equivalent.
• Significant fostering experience and managerial-level practice.
• Knowledge of Children Act 1989/2004 and related child care guidance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure fostering panel and agency align with national policy and legislation.
• Assist with panel membership management and documentation.
• Review and update policy and procedures for panel functioning.
• Monitor and audit practice quality and case information presented to the panel.
• Provide expert advice to social workers presenting cases to the panel and decision makers.
• Analyse feedback from prospective foster carers and implement changes.
• Collaborate to produce QA reports for senior managers every six months.
• Meet annual targets within performance management framework.
