Job summary
Kirklees Council is seeking an experienced social worker to join the Connected Persons Team within the Fostering Service. The role focuses on assessing family members and friends as carers for children who cannot live with their parents, ensuring safeguarding and timely, high-quality reporting.
We welcome Level 3 Social Worker or Senior Practitioner applicants with expertise in safeguarding, fostering, and court work.
Qualifications
- Qualified social worker with Social Work England registration.
- Experience with safeguarding and child protection processes.
- Experience completing complex assessments and producing analytical reports.
- Knowledge of fostering legislation, regulations and standards.
- Experience of court work and working within timescales.
Responsibilities
- Undertake Connected Persons Assessments under relevant regulations.
- Conduct Connected Persons Fostering Assessments per standards.
- Produce high-quality assessments and reports for panels and court proceedings.
- Collaborate with social workers, legal services, fostering panel and professionals.
- Manage a complex caseload within statutory/court timescales.
