Job summary

Connect2Halton, on behalf of Halton Borough Council, seeks a qualified Locum Social Worker to support children, young people and foster families in the Fostering Team. You will assess, support and supervise foster carers, collaborating with partner agencies to ensure safe, stable and nurturing placements.

An induction and training programme will be provided to the successful candidate. The role requires Social Work England registration, 3 years’ experience in children’s social work, and the

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
• 3 years permanent experience in children’s social work.
• Previous experience within children social work.
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload.
• Excellent assessment, analytical and report-writing skills.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to work collaboratively with foster carers, children, families and partner agencies.

Responsibilities

• Assess, support and supervise foster carers in accordance with fostering National Minimum Standards 2011.
• Encourage carers to access their support network and services provided by the local authority and beyond.
• Work collaboratively across services and with other professional disciplines; partner agencies.
