Job summary

Notion seeks a Manager of Forward Deployed Engineering within the Services team to lead a hands‑on delivery group that brings complex enterprise engagements to life across EMEA. You’ll guide architecture, integration, and deployment work that enables Notion as the operating layer for customer systems and workflows.

You will coach engineers through discovery, design, implementation and launch, partnering with Sales, Product, CX, and Engineering while building reusable assets and scalable delivery

Qualifications

• 8+ years in forward deployed engineering or similar hands‑on roles.
• 2+ years in people leadership of engineers.
• Proven ability to hire, develop, retain teams.
• Proficiency in at least one language (Java/JS/Node/SQL/Python).
• Hands‑on with APIs, integrations, data transformations.
• Experience scoping, estimating, and turning requirements into plans.
• Strong architectural judgment and debugging across systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Customer‑ and outcomes‑focused with prudent tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team delivering complex enterprise engagements across EMEA.
• Establish a high‑performance team environment with clear expectations and standards.
• Own engagement outcomes from discovery through design, implementation, launch, and handover.
• Advise customer engineering, IT, security, and business leaders on architecture decisions.
• Design, build, operate custom agents, integrations, and data pipelines.
• Oversee large‑scale content and data migrations and data modeling.
• Review designs and plans, identify risks, and step in for senior leadership when needed.
• Partner with Sales and Services on qualification, scoping, staffing, and delivery planning.
• Balance priorities to inform staffing and sequencing decisions.
• Define and scale the operating model for Forward Deployed Engineering.
