Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial software engineering experience.
• Strong backend experience with Python, ideally Django, or Go with Python focus.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying LLM-powered apps in production.
• Strong fundamentals in APIs, SQL, system design and performance.
• Experience taking ownership from discovery to production.
• Comfort working with non-technical stakeholders and translating needs into engineering solutions.
• Experience in a start-up or fast-paced product engineering environment.
• Product-minded with focus on measurable impact and ownership.

Responsibilities

The Role

We're looking for strong, commercially minded Forward Deployed Engineers who enjoy working closely with people, understanding complex problems and building sophisticated AI-powered products.

You'll operate at the intersection of engineering, product and business, taking ownership of problems from initial discovery through to production deployment.

This isn't a role where you'll simply be handed technical specifications or tickets to complete.

You'll be expected to engage directly with stakeholders, challenge assumptions, identify opportunities for AI and independently design and deliver solutions that create measurable value.

What you'll be working on

• Working directly with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand problems, gather requirements and identify opportunities for AI.
• Designing, building and scaling backend services using Python, with opportunities to work in Go.
• Developing and deploying production-grade AI applications, agent workflows and LLM integrations.
• Translating ambiguous business requirements into practical, scalable technical solutions.
• Building and improving APIs, asynchronous processing systems and data pipelines.
• Working on agent orchestration, retrieval systems and AI infrastructure.
• Taking ownership of solutions from initial discovery and prototyping through to deployment, iteration and production.
• Measuring the impact of what you've built and continuously improving solutions based on feedback and real-world usage.

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of commercial software engineering experience.
• Strong backend engineering experience with Python, ideally Django, or Go with a willingness to work extensively in Python.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying LLM-powered applications or agentic AI systems into production.
• Strong engineering fundamentals across APIs, SQL, system design and performance.
• Experience taking ownership of technical solutions from initial problem discovery through to production.
• Comfortable working directly with non-technical stakeholders, understanding their challenges and translating them into engineering solutions.
• Experience working in a start-up or fast-paced product engineering environment.
• A genuine product and commercial mindset, with an interest in understanding the measurable impact of what you're building.
• Excellent communication skills, strong ownership and the ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments.
