The Role

An exciting opportunity to join our Formulation team in Liverpool!

As a Formulation Technician, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our innovative product technologies and driving our growth plans. Your tasks will include testing and preparing formulations, utilising advanced development equipment, and employing precise testing methods. Principle Accountabilities

1. Prepare and test samples of various formulation types (e.g., slurries, liquids, granules, powders) using development scale equipment, and perform detailed physical/analytical assessments to determine their acceptability.
2. Prepare prototypes for analytical, sensory, employee panel, or consumer study assessments.
3. Support various categories by contributing ideas and opinions in project discussions and team meetings.
4. Raise COSHH and risk assessments for new materials and processes before starting any work.
5. Conduct larger pilot production studies to prepare for full-scale manufacturing.
6. Develop and implement test methods to support formulation and prototype assessments.

Skills and Experience Required

1. Basic qualification in chemistry/engineering (HNC or equivalent experience).
2. Experience in liquids formulation, processing, filling, and characterization.
3. Experience in soft solids formulation and processing (e.g., extrusion, casting).
4. Strong skills in time management, report writing, and teamwork.
5. Ability to break down activities into achievable tasks and provide effective solutions.
6. Drive for learning and continuous improvement, with openness to new ideas and techniques.
