Job summary

Jaguar TCS Racing in the Formula E Championship offers a 12-month industrial placement (Sept 2027–Aug 2028) in our Formula E Control Systems group. You will work with highly skilled engineers and graduates, learning how to improve vehicle control software and test procedures to reduce lap times.

Qualifications

• You should be working towards a degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Automotive, Electronics, Mechatronics, Software or Motorsport Engineering.
• An understanding of vehicle dynamics would be advantageous.
• Industrial placement within our Formula E Control Systems group provides hands-on learning in a high-performance engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Working as an integral part of Car Development Team
• Developing control strategies using the MATLAB toolchain for on-car and off-car environments (DIL, HIL) to optimise vehicle control software
• Developing new methodologies and test procedures to ensure high code test coverage within Vehicle Control Module, Inverter and Motor Control software
• Testing hardware and control modules across test facilities
• Preparation and support of systems on operational vehicles at test and race events
